1-Bromoperfluorooctane, also known as Perfluorooctyl Bromide or perflubron, has a melting point of 6ºC and a boiling point of 142ºC and is a colorless transparent liquid. Perfluorobromooctane has the characteristics of high density, low viscosity, low surface tension, non-flammable, non-toxic, high chemical stability, high electrical insulation and so on. Perfluorobromooctane is one of the more superior medical perfluorocarbons at present, due to the presence of a bromine atom in the molecule, it has a high lipophilicity. It is easily emulsified with lecithin emulsions with superior biocompatibility and shows excellent rapid excretion properties.
