Sulfadiazine is an organic compound with the formula C10H10N4O2S, which is white or white like crystal or powder, odorless, tasteless, and gradually darkens when exposed to light. Almost insoluble in water, soluble in boiling water (1:60), slightly soluble in ethanol. Melting point 252 ~ 256ºC (simultaneous decomposition). Its sodium salt is white crystalline powder, odorless, slightly bitter taste. Gradual brown in light. In the humid air for a long time, it slowly absorbs carbon dioxide and precipitates sulfadiazine.
