Tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, C8H8O3, is one of the downstream products of maleic anhydride. It is used in alkyd resins and unsaturated resins to improve the adhesion, elasticity, gloss and water resistance of coatings. As a curing agent, it can be made into products with good high-temperature electrical properties compared with amines, so it is commonly used as epoxy resin curing agent. As a plasticizer, it can improve the cold resistance and heat resistance of PVC, and is non-toxic. At the same time, the product is also a raw material for the synthesis of surfactants and pharmaceutical pesticides.
